Care before and after eye and nose surgeries

Necessary care before cataract surgery (cataract)

It is necessary for the patient to take a bath the day before the operation and wash the edges of his eyelashes well with baby shampoo and brush his teeth. If necessary, he should shave his head and face to do this the day before the operation.

Be sure to wear simple and comfortable clothes and strictly refrain from using cosmetics and fragrances.

It is better for the patient to eat lightly the night before the operation and not to eat any more in the middle of the night and to fast in the morning.

Take your medication as usual. Do not take your diabetes medication only on the morning of surgery if you have diabetes.

 

Cataract postoperative care (cataract)

Pray while sitting and refrain from bowing and prostrating for a month after the operation.

In the week after the operation, the plastic protector (shield) should be constantly on the eye. Take it when pouring the drops. After pouring the drops, put it on the eyes.

Avoid bending your head, lifting heavy objects, sneezing, or straining when defecating in the first month after work.

In the first week after the operation, you should avoid washing your head and getting detergent into your eyes.

Warning:

In the first days after vision surgery is not desirable and there is a feeling of a foreign body, slight pain and tears. It should be gradually improved in case of reduced blurred vision or severe pain in the eyes, discharge and redness or severe headache. See a doctor or hospital immediately. Driving time is determined by the doctor's opinion

Nutrition:

You can eat after the operation. You do not have food abstinence for eye workers, but to prevent constipation, use vegetable fruits, olive oil and fig syrup.

 

Rhinoplasty or rhinoplasty treatments

 

Preoperative care for rhinoplasty

 

Tell your doctor or nurse about your history of illnesses and medications.

If you have nasal obstruction, previous surgery, or four bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, be sure to tell your doctor before surgery.

Your doctor will perform a thorough examination before the operation, as well as perform necessary tests such as a blood test before rhinoplasty.

If you smoke, you should quit before the operation, smoking reduces the postoperative healing process and increases the risk of postoperative infection.

Do not eat anything for at least 8 hours before rhinoplasty.

Consumption of vitamins, especially vitamins C, iron and minerals, is recommended from two weeks before surgery and is very necessary for wound healing.

 

Postoperative care for rhinoplasty

 

After the operation, your airway is closed from the nose with a bandage, so you should breathe through your mouth and not worry.

To prevent bruising and swelling, freeze the compress for the first 30 hours and then warm the compress for a week.

Lubricate the nasal sutures every 2 hours with 1% eye tetracycline ointment.

Try to keep it under your head for 2 months, especially in the first days of surgery.

After nasal tampons (second or third day), rinse your nose thoroughly every 4 hours with serum.

After removing the plaster on the nose, visit every 4 days to apply the glue.

Before each visit to change the nasal adhesive, first take a shower to remove the adhesive and clean the fat on the nose with lukewarm water and soap.

Avoid finning until told to do so. Clean your nose with a paper towel or soft cloth if you need to.

If necessary, replace the nasal bandage (if any) under the nose.

Gypsum splint and adhesive on the nose will remain for about a week after the operation and will be removed in the office. Do not damage it and keep it dry.

Avoid long phone calls or excessive social activities for at least 10 days.

You can wash your face but be careful not to get the dressing wet. Use the tub to take a bath until the dressing is removed.

In addition, for at least four weeks after rhinoplasty, do not wear prescription glasses or sunglasses on your nose to prevent pressure on your nose. You can stick a sticker on your forehead.

The final shape of the nose is not completely clear until a few months after surgery, so be patient until the nasal cavity is completely removed and the final shape of the nose is determined. Open your mouth to sneeze so that no pressure is applied to the nose.
